The first race of the Turkish Winter Cycling Races Series, "GP Aspendos", started at the Aspendos Antique Theatre, which is one of the world-famous symbols of Antalya and visited by thousands of tourists every year. 32 athletes from 16 domestic and foreign teams competed on the 149.8 kilometer track.

Making a statement at the start of the race, Cycling Tourism Association President Recep Şamil Yaşacan said, “We gave the first start of the Turkey Winter Cycling Race Series, the world's largest international bicycle racing series. Our series will consist of a total of 23 races and will last for two months. The International Cycling Federation has approved these races to be held in Turkey and we will do this successfully as Turkey. All of our races will start from an ancient city or ruins in the Antalya region. The purpose of doing this is that we want to introduce the rich potential of Antalya, the capital of tourism. We are happy to have started an organization that is very important in terms of bicycle tourism and sports tourism.”

In the first race of the series, Yegor Strelnikov from Kazakhstan's Vino Sko team came first, Burak Abay from Konya Metropolitan Municipality team came second, and Ahmet Orken from Spor Toto Cycling Team came third.

The second race of the series is held today (29.01.2023) at Antalya Expo, under the name "Expo Kriteryum".
